While one of the world’s best swimmers, Michael Phelps, is over at the Summer Olympics in London collecting more gold medals, his realtor has been pretty busy herself back at home … selling the 27-year-old’s Baltimore condominium.
The place Phelps has called home for the last five years has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, two half baths, and a two-car private garage, and features floor-to-ceiling windows with standout views of the city’s harbor. The contemporary-style, multi-level condo also has lots of hard-wood flooring, granite countertops, a spa-style tub, and a roof deck. The building, in Baltimore’s Fells Point neighborhood, also offers residents a communal gym and outdoor pool. (It’s not exactly Olympic size, however.)
Though the Baltimore native bought the condo for just under $1.7 million back in 2007 (which was close to the height of the real estate market), he listed it for $1.42 million back in March, and reportedly only sold the place for $1.25 million. But who cares about losing a few hundred thousand bucks in a sour real estate market when you’ve got Olympic wins to celebrate? And there are plenty of places to do it in his soon-to-be-old neighborhood — according to a Fells Point website, the city has more bars per square mile than anywhere else in the United States. Cheers!
